The problem is the lacking of legacy.
The whole reason that I began to write the occasional thought on a blog of my own, even if people will not see it, is that I don’t feel like perpetuating another site’s domination of the web, both because I don’t feel like supporting a company with my IP - intellectual property, for the uninitiated -, nor do I want it to disappear when that site inevitably falls behind in the social-net-jerk landscape.
Not only does Twitter suffer from both a lacking of easily accessible/searchable archives, it is additionally hindered by the lacking of audience for a mild mannered person such as myself. No one meaningful, and not enough meaningless people would read my mildly humorous posts on Twitter to make it worth these sacrifices.
But what, then, is the problem?
The problem is that I would like to write pithy little proofs of my own inanity, yet I have no outlet for them. The blog format nearly requires a long form post such as this, whereas the Tweet demands a short form - sub 140 character to be precise - post.
And so I shall henceforth collect these bits of stupidity and make a less frequent but more substantial update to this blog instead. Problem solved? We shall see.
