  • “I agree with everything you’ve said except the direction of that parenthetical mouth.” God, the internet has ruined me.
  • Watching local news about horrific crimes is great when you’re just passing through.

Notes on a half-week of Liberal Arts College:

  1. The hallway conversations with old acquaintances are baffling both in their frequency and tediousness, one complimenting the other just terribly.
  2. Liberal Arts teachers, like all history teachers, feel the need to play the game colloquially known as “Could You Do My Job (For Me)?” OR “What Am I Thinking?” During lectures, students’ wits are put to the test in a challenge to answer the teacher’s unnecessary questions.  Similarly to a second grade teacher asking what the sum of two and two is, history teachers feel the need to ask you what they should simply tell the class. I’ve got a better game for you. It’s called “How ’bout You Tell Me WTF Charlemagne Was All About?”
  3. Everyone is, “That awkward kid.” Everyone.
  4. No amount of racist humour prepares you for the realities of a public education.
  5. Huh. So you aren’t supposed to plagiarize; thank you First Week of CEGEP!

The spin at 3:15 is nuts.

Destinesia-esia (of mine own invention)
When you chronically forget the word for forgetting your destination.

Ex) Philip said, “Oh man, I’m having a case of—wait what’s that word? Ye know, for forgetting where you were going.
Nick responded “You mean Destinesia, but you have a case of Destinesia-esia.”

The way you described the teachers always asking questions is a very famous way of teaching invented by Socrates a long time ago. Although it is often used with younger students, it is a very common method of teaching and helps the class participate and therefore retain information better.nlearned that today :)
